Festive Decorations

December 14th, 2008

This coming week I will mostly be making lots of stuff to hang in our windows and around the house. So I’ve been looking online for some tutorials and found some fab stuff I thought I would share with you.

Beautiful Paper Snowflakes

This tutorial is on the Cut Out + Keep website and I made some of these for the Heriot Toun Christmas Fair yesterday, to hang up in the studio to make the place look nice and festive and they looked great. So I’m going to make few for the house too.

Paper Flower Ornaments

These paper flower ornaments on the How About Orange wesbite look really cool and also look like they’re easy to make too, so will be giving these a go if I can find my double sided sticky tape – got a feeling I left it at the Christmas Fair yesterday…damn!

Paper Evergreens

These paper evergreens on the Martha Stewart website would look great on the mantlepiece now that all my cyclamen plants have died [unkown reason for the sudden death of all three]. I’ve not got any green card though so might have to improvise.

Stiffened Doilies

I would also like to try to make these snowflakes too, but don’t have any doillies, so might start collecting some for next year.

I’ll post up some pictures of my decorations soon…

I love the snowflakes and the instructions seem easier than you imagine – I might have a go at these
