I’ve just spent the entire evening finishing off the milomade website at long last. So there is now an updated Products section as well as randomised links on the homepage. The content has all been updated too.
I’m really pleased as it’s now a proper showcase for all the products I make.

I’ve just listed a few Mobile Phone Charms in my DaWanda shop. These are made from buttons and beads threaded onto silver plated wire and attached to mobile phone lariats. They’re funky and fun and can be attached to your mobile phone, your iPod or your digital camera – whatever takes your fancy.

Great news – The Cloudhouse Cafe in Stow is now stocking a range of milomade products!
I went through to Heriot in September to visit Pat and she introduced me to Claudia who runs the cafe and I showed her a selection of Safety Pin Bracelets, Button Badges, Elasticated Button Bracelets, Recycled Envelope Badges and Buttons Earings and she loved the lot and said she would like to stock everything.
So if you’re in the area, why not pop in and have some lunch – the food is fantastic!

I’ve been wanting to get a badgemaker for absolutely ages and it was one of the items of equipment I specified within my grant application that I would buy if I was awarded the grant…so when I saw one come up on e-bay at a very low price, I made sure I kept an eye on it.
This one in particular seemed like a very good deal as it came with tons of badge components and magnets [so I could make fridge magnets too] as well as a circle cutter. I ended up spending just under what I initially predicted I would spend on a machine, so I was a bit disappointed as it was second hand and not new, but with all the extra’s that came with the machine, I’m more than happy with my purchase…here’s the machine in all it’s orange glory!

Our two weeks in the Outer Hebrides were totally magical and amazing and thankfully we went when we did and missed all the heavy rain and floods and misery that came down on Fife in our absence. We were in our own little sunshine bubble and visited 9 separate islands and here are some photo’s from a few of them…

Just a quick post to let you know what new stock has been deliverd to The Portal in Edinburgh…

August 5th, 2008
Just thought I’d write a quick post about The Portal in Edinburgh. Run by Waste Innovations (part of the STIRnetwork), they are based in the heart of Edinburgh, just off the Royal Mile in St Mary’s Street and they stock milomade goods and my sales figures are good. They’re getting a whole batch of new stock today and hopefully it will all sell over the festival.
Waste Innovations are great and I’m really glad I found them – well Pat found them for me and passed on their details. They have a policy of zero waste…
Waste Innovations is a marketing company which aims to achieve sustainability in all of its business operations. We believe that waste should have a value, and should be managed as profligately as gold dust. Wherever possible, our waste should be innovatively recycled, refactured or regenerated into value-added products of a diverse nature and it is an objective of Waste Innovations to facilitate the development of new markets in recycled materials to further this end. http://www.wasteinnovations.com

I feel like we’ve totally neglected the garden over the past few months. We moved to Kinghorn earlier this year and had an initial flurry of activity in the garden, in fact on our first day here I created a herb / salad / spinach / beetroot patch right outside the back door, which has now been slightly overtaken by lovely nasturtiums…
