I recently did a craft fair at Ardross Farm – Summer in the Loft – and thought I’d post up some piccies of my stall and the event. It was the first craft fair I’d done in a long while, so I was a bit nervous and not sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a really good weekend.
I’d only done one craft fair with this group before and they’re all such lovely people and always joking and laughing that it’s easy to forget you’re ‘at work’. I met some really lovely people too – even some of my Facebook fans came along and said hello, which was lovely.
When I was getting stock ready in the weeks before I tried out lots of layouts for my stall as it’s always good to be prepared so you can set up quickly. It wasn’t clear how big a table I was going to get, so I worked on a 5ft width and created a really nice tight layout, like so:
It took me ages to decide how to display my new button stack necklace, then Colin suggested I give manny a very long neck and hang my necklaces from a piece of dowel. I also created a new wire tree for my mobile phone charms, based on the tutorial I featured recently. I recently bought lots of small cigar boxes on eBay to showcase my badges and gift tags and think these all look great.
When I got to Ardross to set up, I discovered I had a whole 8ft table all to myself – this meant I could spread out my display and show more work which was brilliant. I was really impressed with the display once it was finished as I was trying out a few new things like showing my brooches on Manny and my new hair bobble display and I was excited to get people’s reactions. This is how my display looked:
It was great to have such a wide space. I had my stationery on the left and my jewellery and accessories on the right. The venue is quite dark, but luckily I was situated opposite the only window, so benefited from some natural light, which was great.
It was a really busy weekend and here are some images of the venue:
