HaarShop coming soon…

In collaboration with King Creosote and the Fence Collective the lovely Kirsty of Lovely Pigeon is setting up a pop up shop and creative extravaganza for the duration of the Haar Festival which runs from the 14th-22nd August. The HaarShop will feature work from lots of local and a few non-local artists and creatives. Kirsty got in touch with me a while back and asked me to contribute some of my Milomade creations to sell and I was more than happy to oblige.

So the HaarShop will be selling a selection of my work at this years HaarFest, in the Pop-Up shop which will be situated in the Murray Library, right on the harbour in Anstruther. As well as work on sale, there will also be creative music sessions, art installations and workshops including patchwork, song writing and sunshine printing, so please come along and support all the artists involved.

I drove up to Cellerdyke yesterday to drop of a case full of jewellery and stationery and got to get a sneak peak at the work of the other creative folk involved. Here is a selection of images to give you a taster of what is going to be on offer.

I’m sure I’ve left some people out – so I’ll update the list once I’m alerted to any missing persons…

Milomade – that’s me!
http://www.milomade.co.uk

I have supplied 10 Vintage Button Pendants  – vintage buttons set into antiques sterling silver (£64-£68) – which are all unique one of a kind creations, apart from the yellow one pictured above, which is part of a limited edition run of 5 (but I’ve not made the other 4 yet).

I have also supplied 8 beautiful Antique Silverware Rings all made from the stems of antique silver teaspoons (prices vary from £35-£50) – these are all limited editions too, so snap them up while they’re available.

Also available are three unique leaf pendants (£65) that are made from the bowls of antique silver teaspoons – nothing gets wasted you see!

On the stationery front there is a selection of music and snoopy envelopes (£2.95) as well as some packs of gift tags (£2.85) made from music and envelopes. If you want some hand crafted decorations then you’ll love the paper garlands (£11.50) I have created from music, maps, envelopes and beano magazines. If you like to accessories, then there is a box with 40 packs of badges (£2.85) for you to choose from, all made from sheet music, maps, envelopes and magazines.

I wanted to buy most of the things I saw yesterday at Kirsty’s, especially some of the applique brooches by Jane Smallcombe – so intricate and for some reason remind me of my eastern european roots.  I also wanted to kidnap the grey rabbit doorstop by Clootielugs but didn’t get a chance to stuff it up my jumper without Kirsty noticing. I want it! I want it!!

I won’t be able to make it along for the festival as I have other plans, so I’m going to have to get in touch with these artists and connect with them online and see if I can buy from them direct as I’d like to treat myself with some handmade loveliness for the home and for myself.
