Little Button Daisies – How Cute!

September 30th, 2010

I’ve been lots of button brooches for my up and coming craft fairs and just got round to taking photo’s of the first batch. I used to make flowers of all different sizes and colours, but I’ve decided to stick to the simple daisy design this time around as I love making them so much.

I have boxes and boxes full of old shirt buttons and these are perfect to make these little daisies. I add colour to each flower with the central buttons which come from my great stash of vintage buttons and I match the colour of these with the thread used to sew everything together. The leather comes from my stash of upholstery scraps that I got ages ago and am still upcycling – not sure the stash will ever run out. Here’s what I’ve made so far:

And here is a pic of each individual brooch so you can see the vintage buttons and colours in more detail:

I was going to add them to my online shop today, but think I will wait until my first craft fair is over. If you like any of the brooches shown above and would like to purchase one now, then please get in touch and I will list it in my shop for you. These button flower brooches will all be priced at £8.95.

If you’re in Edinburgh next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, then pop over to the Charity Chic Eco Fashion Fair on George Street and buy direct - info on my blog.
