I’ve been making leaf pendants from my spoon bowls for a while and these are OK to make from spoons where the hallmark is found on the stem of the spoon, meaning the bowl of the spoon is unmarked. I do however have a huge batch of spoons where the hallmark appears on the bowl of the spoon and so I’ve been doodling and coming up with patterns and designs that would work on these hallmarked bowls so that I can make some new pendants.
I’m currently working on a new collection of new pendants made from these silver spoons and here is the first new design I have to show you. It’s lovely and simple and hangs from a delicate silver chain.
This is design number one. It started off as three tulips, which looked great in the sketch, but when I translated the sketch to the silver they didn’t look quite right and so I turned them into hearts. I now much prefer the hearts and so will be making some more this week.
This is an image of the back of the pendant, showing the hallmark, making this spoon bowl unsuitable to be made into a leaf.
