Milomade Hair Clips made with vintage buttons

I’ve been having lots of fun making button hair clips this week in preparation for the next run of craft fairs and exhibitions I’m doing up until mid December. I’ve gone through my button box and picked out buttons with fab colours, shapes and patterns and carefully sewn these with waxed golden thread [to match the clips] to small hair clips. The stitches are glued at the back to secure them. I then pair them up and slip them onto printed Milomade cards.

I like to pair them up randomly, often mixing colours and shapes, so that you get something different with each pair. At craft fairs I encourage people to choose their own pairs and this goes down really well – so well that I’ve decided to start displaying them differently and I’m currently creating a set of small card stands so that I can display them in colour groups and this will allow people to pick their own pairs more easily rather than having to rely on my choices. Everyone’s tastes are different.

Here are some photo’s of the one’s I’ve made so far:

I’ve picked out 3-4 hairclips in all the colours of the rainbow and have decided to add these to my online shop. These are the ones that are going to be available soon.
