Round the ‘Horn – What a success!

I’d like to thank everyone who came and did our creative advent calendar trail around Kinghorn on Saturday – it was an amazing day – so much support and positivity all round! The Milomade studio got over 130 visitors between 10am and 6pm – how amazing is that! A huge pat on the back to everyone involved – we all did so much work to get Round the ‘Horn off the ground and advertise and spread the word about the event – all the effort really paid off.

Every studio and venue was busy all day long with lots of folk doing the trail and a few who didn’t have time to do the whole trail but still wanted to join in and visit a few places on the map. We all had lots of sales, got commissions and orders as well as people signing up for classes and workshops. We got to meet so many lovely people who all loved the idea of the creative trail and the advent calendar stamps and we feel we’ve really put Kinghorn on the creative map especially when we hear people saying they thought the event was better than the Pittenweem Festival!

We had carol singers visiting the venues too, but they started at 4.30pm so a lot of people will have unfortunately missed them which was a shame.

Once we closed the doors at 6pm, some of us managed to do part of the trail ourselves and collect all the leaflets/maps that had been completed and handed in at each of the venues. We then ended up at Catherine’s house with a bottle of Cava and drew the lucky winner of our Christmas Stocking full of goodies out of a bag. Congratulations to Hazel Chisholm who received her prizes the other day.

I wish I had taken some photos on the day, but I was totally rushed off my feet that I just didn’t have the time. I did envisage that I’d be sitting at my jewellery bench all day making and demonstrating my antique silverware jewellery – but I never got a chance to sit down! It was insanely busy and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

We’re already making plans for next year! So watch this space.
