I don’t know if you’ve heard of Judith Brown Jewellery? Well, if not, head over to her website and check out her work – if you love upcycling, if you love vintage, you’ll love her jewellery! I do! And I got an amazing surprise in the post the other day…
I recently had a clear out and found a load of vintage haberdashery stuff that I would never have a use for – press studs, hook fastenings etc. I know Judith uses these all the time to create her stunning pieces, so instead of chucking them in the bin, I thought I would pop them in the post and hope that she could make use of them.
I often get random bits and pieces like that in amongst the vintage buttons that I buy and I always put them aside rather than throw them away – in this case I’m really glad I did as look what arrived in the post today!
I absolutely love them! Their made from one press stud – one earring is the top bit and the other the bottom bit – how clever – such a lovely little detail.
I can’t wear them for too long as all stud earrings make my ears itch now – it doesn’t matter if their silver, gold or plated – after a few hours I start scratching. I’ve noticed that this has got worse since I had my boy, so don’t know if pregnancy has altered my internal chemistry somehow, but I used to be able to wear stud earrings for days without any issue! So I’ll save these for special occasions.
