Works on Paper by Donna Ruff

Works on paper

I love paper cut art. It’s so intricate and ever so time consuming. I’ve done my fair share in the past when I was at art college, but its not something I decided to pursue. I’ve seen and like a few artists, but never until now seen someone’s work that uses recycled paper, like newspaper until I came across the work of Donna Ruff.

She takes broadsheet newspapers and cuts or burns them, referencing religious motifs form mosques and synagogues creating repeating patterns.

They’re so intricate and delicate and transform such everyday objects such as newspaper into works of art.
