Frosted Finishes

RePlumbed Pendants in Progress -made from recycled copper plumbing pipes

I made these pendants a while ago and never really finished them off. I just discovered them in a box whilst looking for something else.

Now that I have my Foredom and a frosting wheel I’ve been experimenting with the frosted finish and going to try a few things out tonight.

They need a good clean and possibly a fresh dunk into oxidising solution.

I love masking tape. So handy to isolate the metal you want to work on.

Some sneak peeks…

I first blogged about this in March this year when I was learning tube riveting at Silver Hub Studios in Edinburgh.

I’m really pleased with the way the first two have turned out. I frosted the tops piece of copper and oxidised the metal, polishing and rubbing back partially all over.

Still got one to do, but I’ll leave that for tomorrow. Then they can all get added to the my onlineĀ  shop.
