Well here it is… I’m sitting here post Christmas Eve feast with a glass of home brewed (thanks Dan!) banana wine, having eaten too many pierogi and mince pies, but I thought I’d check in just to wish you all…..
A very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2015!
Christmas starts early at Milomade HQ, not only because I’ve been in Christmas mode since September as a business, but also because of my Polish upbringing, I celebrate Christmas Eve rather than Christmas Day. But as my partner is the oppostite and celebrates Christmas Day rather than Christmas Eve, we get the best of both worlds in this house.
It’s the first year in ages we’ve decided to stay at home for Christmas rather than visit family and friends. This is mostly because our wee boy is just at the right age (2.5yrs) to get totally immersed in the magic of Christmas, Santa and all the trimmings and we wanted to start our own family traditions this year and hope to stick to them for many more years to come.
We’ve had a whirlwind week of parties and celebrations and it’s been a brilliant day of playing and cooking and searching for Santa. We had some pre Christmas drinks with friends and then on the way home were lucky to witness the International Space Station zooming through the sky over our heads. We had planned to tell Milo this was Santa in his sleigh, but he’d fallen asleep in transit and missed the spectacle.
But we made up for this at home with a bit of our own Santa spotting (planes flying to Edinburgh Airport), sprinkling glittery reindeer food in the garden and hanging up our 4 stockings (MaxiMouse his favourite toy gets one too) for Santa to fill with presents. On the way up to bed Milo put out a mince pie for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph and decided that Santa would prefer a glass of milk to anything alcoholic and insisted on a full glass!
I can’t wait to hear him wake up and find presents in his stocking! Really looking forward to tomorrow.
I hope you all enjoyed my Advent Calendar this year and all the offers that were available. A big thank you goes out to all my customers this year all over the world!
I hope your Christmasses, wherever you are, are filled with magic!
