Moving Forward…

Help me make my blog better

My head has been spinning of late with lots of ideas on moving forward with Milomade. I’ve neglected my site and blog for years now and I really want to to dive back in and start posting more regularly again. But…

Help me make my blog better

I don’t want to bombard you with content you don’t want to read…
I don’t want to write about stuff I’m not passionate about…
I want to engage with my readers/customers…
I want an interesteing blog, full of interesting content that people want to read, enjoy and share…

So over the coming weeks I’m going to try and get back into a routine of writing and scheduling posts on this blog again. I’ve been making notes, sorting out calendars, thinking about content etc. I did even think about signing up for a 30 day blogging challenge, but I knew I would find that difficult to manage and negative feelings would start creeping in. I want to enjoy blogging and updating my site. So…

I’m asking you, my dear readers, for a little bit of input…

What would you like me to write about?
What would you like to see on my site and blog?
What don’t you want to see?

Please vote below, I’d really appreciate your feedback.

I too have been paying very little attention to my blog. Good to see I am not alone and you provide me with inspiration to try and gat back to mine. Technology takes as much time as creativity!

And most of the time it gets in the way. I’d love to be able to update my blog using my iPhone or iPad as there’s an app, but for three years now I can’t get the app to talk to my blog and the software guys can’t help, the hosting guys have tried to help, but there’s no solution. Useless.

Susan I’m planning some tutorials on repurposing plastic bottles and bags and lots of festive decoration stuff too – so look out for these.

Since I’m from the USA, I would like to hear stories about how things are different over there, and what some different phrases might be! Just for fun facts!
I also love your trash to treasure projects!

  5. Milomade says:

Thank you Kathy – it’s seems my trash to treasure / too good to waste / tutorials are a hit and that’s the impression I get from what content on my blog is shared on Pinterest, so I think I’m going to concentrate on this area a lot more. It’s a lot of work, but I’m sure if I get organised I can post lost of interesting projects.

Your lovely comments always make me smile Diana. Thanks. I’m hoping to do a lot of posts that answer the kind of questions I get via email and in my studio when customers visit – so things about the tools I use, the materials, how I do commissions etc so hopefully you’ll get a better insight into what happens at Milomade HQ.

As a creative person, I enjoy insight into the creative process of others. how do you keep it all organized? How do you balance with mom responsibilities? Also would be cool to hear about special finds, and what you plan to do with them. Thanks for asking…

Thanks Nicola for your lovely comment – that covers a lot and amazingly all those things are on my list. I’m glad I’m having similar thoughts to my blog readers.

I like to see work in progress. I also love to see and watch the act of making, so maybe a video? If not then lots of photos (without giving away trade secrets of course).

Hi Alix – I get a lot of views on videos I post on Facebook, so maybe I should introduce them to the blog. I’ve been steadily uplaoding the videos I’ve shot this year up to my Vimeo account, so very tempted to add a ‘video’ section to the website so that they’re all in one place.

Hi Jenny – I was going to do a survey but got bamboozled by what questions to ask. So I thought I’d keep it simple with a poll on the most popular blog post categories and its proving very useful so far. Shame my blog crashed today, but I think I’ve fixed it – there was a problem with one of the plugins I was using and thankfully now that has been deleted everything is back up and running again and I’ve not lost any data!

Thanks for the feedback Kirstin – I’m working on it! Rather than posting losts of live stuff on Instagram and Facebook I’m going to save it up for the blog where I go go into more detail.

Loving the spoon ring, when I slid it on it fit as if made especially for my finger. I wear it almost every day. The vintage button rings are awesome! I really enjoy your repurposing. I do the same, but with fabric. Be well!
