I’ve been wanting to try stamping metal for a while now and recently took advantage of an offer on ImpressArt stamps. I bought a few different designs and started practising on copper – it’s not as easy as it seems.
I wanted to make some earrings as the start of a new collection I’m entitling ‘Details’ and set about cutting small 8mm disc from EcoSilver. You have to develop the stampers knack and it took loads of practice on copper sheet before I braved working with silver. But I got the hang of it eventually and made some lovely llittle studs.
I got quite a few pairs made and boxed up ready for Round The Horn and they sold really well. The earrings are oxidised and given a black antique patina. This is polished away on the front of the earrings, leaving a mirror finish and the designs beautifully defined. The antique patina is left untouched on the edges and backs of the earrings.
Priced at £12.95, they’re now available in my online shop.
Why not treat yourself or someone special this Christmas?
