Milomade HQ – Where I work…

#MarchMeetTheMaker - Day 3 - Workspace

Part of the #MarchMeetTheMaker challenge on Instagram is to post up an image of my workspace, I had a look at what other Instagramers were posting today and all the workspaces were so styled and extremely tidy and pristine – they just didn’t seem real.

So here is a bit of reality for you…

Day3 of #MarchMeetTheMaker Workspace. I’m not going to fake it. I’m not going to lie. My studio is a mess most of the time. It’s just the way I work. I do have a clear up at least once every two weeks and that helps. My jewellery bench was a 40th birthday pressie from my partner. He made it for me and it installed when I was heavily pregnant with our boy. Instead of painting my boys bedroom and getting that ready for his arrival, I selfishly focused on my studio instead as I knew he’d be in with us for at least a year. I have my soldering station and jewellery work area at one end and the other, when it’s clear, is where I make my paper based products and do my packaging etc. I got the pegboard on freecycle and I’m so glad I did as it’s a great place to store tools. My rolling mill is on a free standing IKEA bench and doesn’t have much room but it’s usable. I have a standing desk for my laptop and screen and that’s where I do all my design work. It’s a small space but I love it.
