I’m always keen to promote handmade crafts and gifts and personally would much prefer to make someone a gift or buy them something hand crafted than buy something mass produced. When you buy handmade you know that the maker has taken the time to make each piece unique, individual in it’s own way and certainly not something you would find in highstreet shops.

What makes even greater is that Milomade is mentioned in the text right at the bottom – hurrah!

Just a quick little post to let you know that I got interviewed for the ‘Meet the Maker’ slot on the Makers-Online blog recently and it got posted on the site this week. My next victim is Katcha Bilek who runs Re-Collect and designs and makes the most amazing fashion accessories from recycled materials – namely truck inner tubes collected from local tyre repair centres. The straps on them are old car seatbelts from local car scrap yards. The belts are made of bike tyres from local bike shops. Everything is hand made locally, cut and sewn by hand with no use of electrical machinery or children. The materials make a great alternative to animal products and due to the nature of the material each product is unique.
