Spoiling the dog…

December 16th, 2010

When it snows the dog loves it – it’s her favourite thing in the world! As the golf course has been closed due to the bad weather it’s been taken over by parents sledging with their kids [weep] and dog walkers. Last week I took the dog up there every morning, afternoon and night as she loved it so much.

Our Snow

December 15th, 2010

I’ve been a bit too busy to post much on the blog lately, but did manage to take lots of pictures of the snow we’ve had over the past few weeks. It’s all melted and gone now and we do miss it as it was so much fun when it was here!

You get what you wish for…

December 1st, 2010

Well a few weeks back I did a Theme Thursday post and wished for a white Christmas and all I can say is that something you do get what you wish for. We had a little bit of snow on Friday and Saturday, but by Sunday it was all gone. We’d arranged to go through to Edinburgh to visit friends on Sunday evening and we thought we’d be fine as there was no snow here. We knew there’d be snow in Edinburgh, but so long as we heading back home before midnight we shouldn’t get stuck in it.

House Renovations Part 2

November 30th, 2010

Re-routing pipes! We’ve been living with our 70’s kitchen for far too long now and it’s time to tackle it. We’ve put it off for so long due to lack of funds and also it’s such a huge task that just thinking about it makes our brains melt. But we’ve been deliberating about it for far too long and we’ve decided to take action now. Most people think we’re mad to start this three weeks before Christmas, but what with the VAT increases in Janaury we’re going to save ourselves a lot of money ordering everything now.

House Renovations Part 1

November 30th, 2010

Looking for a belfast sink! We’re going to be turning the back porch into a little bit of a utility room and that’s where the washing machine and freezer are going to go. Between them we want to put a small belfast sink, so I went on a hunt for one recently. We have one salvage yard close-ish to us just past Kincarden Brdige – it’s called Hargreaves and it’s abrialliant place for belfast sinks.

What a lovely day…

November 17th, 2010

Ok so it’s not very good weather, so I’m not talking about that. Instead I’m talking about the lovely day out I’ve had today. A while ago I signed up for a creative exchange organised by Fife Contemporary Art and Craft and due to being immensely busy, in hospital, out of hospital, dealing with a backlog of work and what not, there has just never been the time to do anything.  So I put today in the diary as the day to go out and do it – or at least part of it.

Apologies for the lack of posts…

October 21st, 2010

I’ve not been blogging much lately and I do apologise for that lack of posts. Since my operation I’ve had time off to recuperate and I’ve had a backlog of work to catch up on and also craft fairs and exhibitions to make stock for and time has just been a bit limited. I’m getting back on track though and hope to be back to my regular blog posting very soon. Just thought I’d let you all know.

Medical Update

September 18th, 2010

I started this blog for Milomade and to document the work I do as well a advertise my wares, but I’ve also used it to keep you all up to date with my Life in Kinghorn, our house renovations and my health has also slipped into the bag. I hope that’s OK. Here’s a little update on the events of this week.

Excessive Packaging

September 8th, 2010

I ordered Colin a very unusual item for his birthday from a seller on eBay and it has just arrived. The item comes in a sturdy wooden box which measures 75cm x 15cm x 12cm. A few layers of bubble wrap and some cardboard would have sufficed to protect it on it’s journey here but…

Ever had a picture taken of your insides?

September 6th, 2010

If so, please comment and let me know about your experience. I’m heading into hospital on the 15th of this month and I’m dreading it. Firstly I can’t stand hospitals – they’re OK to visit I guess, but I’ve never fancied being a patient myself. The last time I had an operation I was 9 and that was under local anaesthetic to remove a mole. That brings me to my ’secondly’ which is I’m going to be having a general anaesthetic – something I’ve never had before.

My Military Operation…

September 3rd, 2010

Yesterday I finished work at midday and went on a bit of a round trip of Fife. If I’m going somewhere I always try and get a lot crammed into the trip so I get the most for my money/time. So when I spotted a folding table on Freecycle recently (in St Andrews), I thought I could go an pick that up at the same time as popping into the Town Hall so see the Scrap Exchange exhibition.

I’ve got a new dog!

September 1st, 2010

Well, not a real dog… I recently won a lovely hand painted wooden version of Abee by becoming a fan on Moobaacluck on Facebook. I love doing giveaways, but I hardly ever win anything myself, so it was a lovely surprise to get an email from Gabriella Buckingham who runs Moobacluck a while ago saying that I had won her giveaway.
