I got a ring order this week for one of my lovely Pamuya rings – it’s the last one in this limited set unfortunately – and the customer wanted me to add an antique patina to it. The final result is amazing and I wish I’d added a patina to the other ones I’ve made in the past as it works really well with this design.

Here are some photo’s a took before packaging the ring off and sending it to Germany…

The last photo shows a close up of the hallmark indicating that the ring is sterling silver and was made in 1904 by Walker and Hall in Sheffield. I can’t remember where I discovered this set of spoons, but they are really special and the design is absolutely gorgeous – it was sad to see the last one leave my studio, but it’s going to a good home and I’m [...]

On the Saturday 3rd December – i.e. this coming Saturday – I’ll be holding a stall at the Aberdour Christmas Fayre organised by the Aberdour Primary School Parents Association. This is being held in the Aberdour Community Centre on Shore Road (where the Library is) and the doors open to the public at 10am and close at 2.30pm – so you’ve got 4½ hours to come and do some Christmas shopping.

The organisers have not been very forthcoming with information, so I don’t know much about the event, only that there will be a stall available for me and that I’ve got only half an hour (!!) to set up – yikes!

There will be a wide variety of Milomade goodies on offer as usual, from stocking fillers, to gifts, to festive cards and decorations. I’ve even made a range wintry/festive themed hairclip notecard gift sets especially for the occasion – so [...]

Do you think it’s possible for me to get 2000 Facebook fans by the end of the year? Maybe I should aim for 2011? I’d love to achieve this task, but not sure how to go about it to be honest as I’ve had a steady rise in my fan-base all year but it’s kind of come to standstill – but maybe that’s because I’ve been offline for the past few months.

I’d like to do a New Year Prize Giveaway and I have a lovely book by Linda Jones called ‘Creating Wire and Beaded Jewelry’ that will go to one lucky winner.

It’s a really lovely book with over 35 beautiful projects using wire and beads.

It really helped me when I first started making jewellery and taught me how to manipulate wire and how to create my own chains and fastenings.

Some of the projects include:

- Eyelet chain
- Lattice chain
- Wiggly wire [...]

The ones made from recycled Christmas Cards? Well I’ve just got into making them again this year in readiness for Christmas Craft Fairs and Sales. I know it seems bizarre as it’s only September, but this year I want to be organised and make things slowly and gradually and regularly rather than having one big mad rush of making later on in the year. I’m also hoping that I’ll be getting some wholesale orders soon, so there’s that to think about and plan for as well.

I got so many donations of Christmas cards at the beginning of the year and I just got a bag load from Colin’s sister too – so as a thank you I thought I’d make her a few packs to get me going.

It’s called a wad punch and it’s amazing. I’ve been making my little button flower brooches for years now and I’ve always cut my leather circles by hand which is OK when I’m making the odd brooch here and there, but when I have to make loads for an order or for a craft fair it’s very time consuming as well as not perfectly accurate. Here’s where a wad punch comes in.

It’s a heavy precision cut metal tool that allows you to repeatedly cut identical circles from leather very quickly – whacking with a hammer is required which is also great fun. I managed to cut loads of circles in a matter of minutes.

It’s a shame that my vast stash of small cream vintage shirt buttons has just run out and I can’t make any more brooches until I’m lucky to find another load of identical buttons to recycle at [...]

I’m featured alongside some really talented local jewellers and they’ve used a close up photograph of one of my Antique Silverware Rings – Anthemion, and the text focuses on how I love to recycle British hallmarked antique silverware.
