It was great fun getting the order completed – so many cards and gifts sets – and it was so exciting to post them off to America! They arrived safe and sound and within a few days were already flying off the shelves.

I’m frantically getting ready for this fair at the moment and busy making lots of lovely products that would make great gifts or stocking fillers for friends and family alike. My popular festive button notecards will be taking pride of place as well as my new packs of gift tags made from recycled Christmas cards. I also have Christmas decorations made from recycled materials as well. It’s a heavy precision cut metal tool that allows you to repeatedly cut identical circles from leather very quickly – whacking with a hammer is required which is also great fun. I managed to cut loads of circles in a matter of minutes.

It’s a shame that my vast stash of small cream vintage shirt buttons has just run out and I can’t make any more brooches until I’m lucky to find another load of identical buttons to recycle at [...]

Fife Contemporary Art and Craft are going to be running a Pop Up Shop called Treat that will showcase more than 30 makers in jewellery, textiles, wood, ceramics, glass, lighting, prints and much more – included in this mix is a lovely selection of Milomade goodies. So why not pop up and Treat yourself to some contemporary art and craft?

Treat opens on Friday 1st July and is open until Saturday 16th July – 10am to 5pm -  and staffed by the lovely and talented Jane Gowans.

I’m featured alongside some really talented local jewellers and they’ve used a close up photograph of one of my Antique Silverware Rings – Anthemion, and the text focuses on how I love to recycle British hallmarked antique silverware.

Hopefully I’ll get a few hits this weekend on my site – just wish I could get round to implementing the re-design as the new look is so much better than what I have right now!

First up is my pocket notebook tutorial, which is a 15 minute make. This appears on page 13.

The original intention was to include photographs of each step and I did supply these, but in the end this tutorial had to fit onto one page, so they chose just to use the text and a really lovely image they shot of the bookmarks I supplied.
