I discovered these beautiful porcelain hearts today entitled Corezone. Corezone is a closed ceramic space, where you can place your thoughts, feelings, emotions. Write them down on small pieces of paper and put them inside the heart. You must then physically break your own heart to free them.
Jessica Hische is a typographer and illustrator working in Brooklyn, New York. I discovered her work on Craftgawker today and decided that this week’s Theme Thursday would be a selection of her beautifully printed alphabet. Letterpressed on Crane’s 110lb Lettra paper, these individual letters are a selection from the first six alphabets of the Daily […]
I’d never heard of the artist Ran Hwang until today – I was using the new Google image search facility – which I absolutely love as it’s just so organic now – and just happened upon an image of some of her work. I clicked through to her website and was amazed. She uses buttons […]
Just before I get stuck into a project that I’m going to be immersed in for the next three days I thought I would have a few minutes online of vintage button therapy and here are a few images I want to share with you…

Thanks to Jill Calder for coming up with the rain theme for this week’s Theme Thursday – it’s quite appropriate as Fife is a tad wet today! We could all do with looking at her brightly coloured illustrations to get some colour back into the day. Is summer over? The rain is here and it’s […]
Did anyone catch the latest episode of Imagine on Tuesday night on BBC One? It was brilliant. Entitled ‘Art is Child’s Play’ it delved into childhood experience of play and tried to make a connection between early creativity to artistic endeavours later on in life. Lots of Britain’s leading artists were interviewed about their practice […]
It’s a lovely sunny day and I’ve just discovered three little tomato buds in my greenhouse – they weren’t there yesterday when I was photographing the yellow flowers, so they must have developed over night and this morning – I’m really excited! So to celebrate this and the lovely sunshine here’s a Mellow Yellow theme […]
