Rain Rain Go Away…

July 1st, 2010

Thanks to Jill Calder for coming up with the rain theme for this week’s Theme Thursday – it’s quite appropriate as Fife is a tad wet today! We could all do with looking at her brightly coloured illustrations to get some colour back into the day. Is summer over? The rain is here and it’s quite grim all of a sudden and even though I found the sunshine far too hot, I miss it already. I do love the rain though, don’t get me wrong, but it’s put a gloomy haze over the day today, so I went onto the Zibbet site to find some silver linings to our rain cloud situation to cheer us all up.

Mellow Yellow

June 24th, 2010

It’s a lovely sunny day and I’ve just discovered three little tomato buds in my greenhouse – they weren’t there yesterday when I was photographing the yellow flowers, so they must have developed over night and this morning – I’m really excited! So to celebrate this and the lovely sunshine here’s a Mellow Yellow theme to give you a sunny glow for the rest of the day.

Summer Snaps

June 17th, 2010

I had a glorious day in the sunshine today putting hte glass into my greenhouse at long last. In the aftertoon, to cool off I took the dog down the beach and went paddling in the sea. I rolled my trouser up to my thighs and pushed them up as high as they could go so I could go far into the water – it was so warm in the shallows that I wish I’d put my swimming costume on and gone for a dip!

Yummy Delicious

June 10th, 2010

Even though I’ve had my dinner, for some reason I’m still peckish. I know there are crisps in the cupboard and I really want them, but that would never do. So instead I’ve logged onto the Zibbet website and had a search for some yummy delicious things to feast on.

Amazing Paper Creations

June 3rd, 2010

I went up to Dundee at the weekend to see the degree show and was mostly disappointed by what I saw. Only a handful of talented folk stood out. One in particular that amazed me was Linsey McGregor who’s work is paper based. On display were some extraordinary pieces of body art/jewellery and these were accompanied by a video of her transforming a flat sheet of paper into something amazing.

How About Orange?

May 20th, 2010

Last week was pretty much a non-event when it came to blogging – I just couldn’t get my head into the zone and so I didn’t do a Theme Thursday last week, or much else for that matter. So I thought I’d make this week’s Theme Thursday nice and bright with a whole collection of Orangey niceness in the hope that you’ll forgive me for missing out last week.

Seaside Splendour

May 6th, 2010

Oh I do love to be beside the seaside! But I am biased as I live right on the coast – on a cliff to be precise, so I’ve got quite a lovely view and also the opportunity to walk on the beach everyday with the dog. I’ve been collecting beach findings for a long time and as you probably know have started my own collection of jewellery made from sea glass that is sourced from the beaches in Fife where I live. This week I’ve been working in my studio on some sea glass pieces, so I thought I’d have a seaside theme!

Ruby Ruby Ruby

April 29th, 2010

I love the song ‘Ruby Ruby Ruby’ by the Kaiser Chiefs and having just listened to it I thought I’d have RED as this week’s theme. There aren’t a lot of red items in my wardrobe, but I’m beginning to introduce more colour in the the things I wear now and red is definitely creeping in. It’s a lovely warm colour that’s also bold and bright and the items I’ve selected to showcase this week are all fabulously red!

Nature awakens in Spring and everywhere I look there are flowers and buds forming. I love flowers and I love this time of year as the garden is full of blooms popping up all over the place and the garden is slowly coming back to life. This week I thought I would find some lovely bright and cheerful, blooming flowery marvelousness for you.

Pretty In Pink

April 15th, 2010

Who doesn’t like the colour pink? Did you know that in Western culture, the practice of assigning pink to an individual gender began in the 1920s. From then until the 1940s, pink was considered appropriate for boys, while blue was considered appropriate for girls because it was the more delicate and dainty color, or related to the Virgin Mary. Since the 1940s, the societal norm was inverted; pink became considered appropriate for girls and blue appropriate for boys, a practice that has continued into the 21st century.

It’s time to wake up and Spring into action.  Spring is one of my favourite seasons, it’s a time to renew, recharge and restart.
