Well the Charity Chic Fair is now over and I thought I would post up some images of my stall and tell you all how it went. I really enjoyed it. It was the first ‘proper’ craft fair I’ve done and I was really nervous about it, but I shouldn’t have been. Everyone was so lovely – the organisers and the fellow stall holders and of course the public, who bought so much of my stuff.

Come along to the annual eco-fashion exhibition and see just how ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ translates into clothes with a conscience and a chic new look.

Why is it when you’ve got something mundane/difficult to do, something really lovely and exciting lands in your lap and you then have the dilemma of finishing the mundane/difficult task off before getting on with the lovely/exciting stuff and battling with the constant distraction that the lovely/exciting stuff causes.

How wonderful! Every month 4 sellers on Folksy get chosen as ‘featured sellers’ and at the end of the month their names go into a hat and the first one pulled out gets to pick next months featured sellers.

I’ve only just opened my Folksy store a week ago and I’ve already seen my stuff featured on the homepage! I never saw my stuff on the homepage of DaWanda – and I used to check everyday!

I’ve recently registered with Folksy and set up a new online shop as I’m going to try it out and see how it goes – so far I’m very impressed.

I was at Heriot Toun Studio yesterday for my 2nd ever Craft Fair and it was great. I arrived on Friday, so was able to set my stall the evening before and not have to fret about it on Saturday morning. So no stress this time around.

On Friday the 5th December I did my very first craft fair and all in all I think it went really well and I really enjoyed it…and I certainly learnt a few things too…

Just thought I’d write a quick post about The Portal in Edinburgh. Run by Waste Innovations (part of the STIRnetwork), they are based in the heart of Edinburgh, just off the Royal Mile in St Mary’s Street and they stock milomade goods and my sales figures are good. They’re getting a whole batch of new stock today and hopefully it will all sell over the festival.
Waste Innovations are great and I’m really glad I found them – well Pat found them for me and passed on their details. They have a policy of zero waste…
Waste Innovations is a marketing company which aims to achieve sustainability in all of its business operations. We believe that waste should have a value, and should be managed as profligately as gold dust. Wherever possible, our waste should be innovatively recycled, refactured or regenerated into value-added products of a diverse nature and it is an objective of Waste Innovations to facilitate the development of new markets in recycled materials to further this end. http://www.wasteinnovations.com

Yay – my mini moo cards arrived this morning. Not really had a chance to look at them and get excited until this evening as I’ve been suffering today with a severe reaction to a couple of insect bites I got on Sunday. My left arm swelled up and I’ve been feeling pretty woozy. But trying out some antihistamine tablets and cream now and they seem to be working.
Two lovely boxes full…

I’ve just put the milomade website live at last and I think it’s looking great. It’s got some good reviews already at the WDF despite it being a bit of a rush job to get something online in readiness for some up and coming publicity – nothing like a deadline to get work done!
I’ve kept the styling of this blog and the website the same and it is my intention to combine the two once I figure out how to manipulate the navigation in the blog to reflect the navigation of the site.
