I’ve got a stockist!

April 3rd, 2008

Wow – how crazy!

My friend Pat sent me this info in an email today:

A Call for Scottish artists/designers/photographers
Waste Innovations is launching a new project, the Portal. This is a funky, new, eco-friendly lifestyle shop. We are a social enterprise focused on the salvaging of waste, waste of people potential, resources, or products, and culture. The Portal is opening at 10am on 12 April

We are looking for creative people and their creative products to stock, display, and sell in our shop. We stock products that are made from recycled, reused, sustainable, and/or organic materials. We also provide exhibition space for artists and photographers in our shop. We would like to help promote local singers/songwriters. Also, if you are an artist and have something that you could teach someone else, we would like to chat to you about perhaps running a workshop, if it fulfils our criteria.

If you have any questions or are interested in our press release and further information on our products, please call and ask to speak to Ferial, Alice, or Philip on 0131 605 2910.

So I gave them a call and sent them some images of my jewellery and stuff and they love everything and want to stock all my stuff! I’m so excited. But now I have to get a stocklist together, do some labels, get some business cards printed and get everything to them by next Wednesday – yikes!

Wow! I got a grant!

March 21st, 2008

I got a lovely letter today telling me that my application for the “Small Grant for Craft Makers in Fife” had been succcessful and I’ll be getting all the money that I applied for. I’m absolutely chuffed to bits as this now means that I can get my website up and running, get my online shop up and running, buy some proper tools and equipment and get milomade launched properly at last!

The organisations who gave me a grant.

So a big thanks to everyone at at Fife Contemporary Art & Craft, Arts & Theatre Trust Fife and Creative Fife
