I’ve been busy today taking lots of photographs of my products for my online shop and have just listed 12 new Button Flower Brooches. Please visit the Milomade Shop to see the whole collection. These are all unique, so whichever one you purchase you’ll be buying a unique piece of eco-chic – one of a kind – and will be able to wear it with pride, knowing that not another one like it exists in the world.

I’m busy getting ready for my next craft fair in St Andrews at the weekend and have been making lots of lovely colourful Button Flower Brooches and my studio is getting messy again.
I can’t seem to be able to be tidy when I’m working – there are buttons all over the place, along with bits of leather and colourful thread.

Great news – The Cloudhouse Cafe in Stow is now stocking a range of milomade products!
I went through to Heriot in September to visit Pat and she introduced me to Claudia who runs the cafe and I showed her a selection of Safety Pin Bracelets, Button Badges, Elasticated Button Bracelets, Recycled Envelope Badges and Buttons Earings and she loved the lot and said she would like to stock everything.
So if you’re in the area, why not pop in and have some lunch – the food is fantastic!

I’ve been busy making lots of badges/brooches from buttons this week since I ordered a load of these brooch pins – I got a pack of 50, so going try and make 50 brooches before I go on holiday…

…that’s if i have enough buttons as I’m running out, but at least with these button brooches I can use up what I term the button dregs – all those lonely singular buttons that have been left out of so many projects.

I got hold of about 50m of ric rac recently and didn’t know what to do with it and so did a search online for ideas and came across this tutorial at madewithlovebyhannah. The site is full of amazing stuff using really lovely fabrics and embroidery – a true inspiration!
The photos in the tutorial make it look so easy and also show very neat stitching. I’m afraid mine wasn’t so neat and it took me ages…as I kept on thinking it looked a mess and giving up, but as a finished product I’m now really pleased with it and can’t wait to make more.

Hopefully my stitching and neatness will improve with time. I have some really striking buttons to use and will post up more pictures as and when I’ve completed some more.
