I love making envelopes – I can’t stress that enough and over the past week or so I’ve been cutting maps, sheet music, pages from comic annuals etc into envelope shapes. I’ve then been folding and gluing and packaging them up – it’s been hard work, but I love repetitive tasks like this and I do love making envelopes – I know I’ve already said that, but I do!

I’m going to be setting up a Milomade stall at Summer in the Loft on the 10th/11th July – details on the homepage – and I’m very busy getting stock ready for that. Every surface, including the floor is covered with work in progress or work waiting to be packed or finished work waiting to be boxed up. This time around I’m concentrating on my craft collection and making a lot of stationery, lots of badges, some really funky new button necklaces and of course my button flower brooches which are a main favourite.

I was asking my Facebook fans to help me out with a dilemma yesterday and although they came up with lots of lovely suggestions, IKEA had the solution in the end. I’ve never really known the best way to display my hair bobbles and everytime I do a craft fair, I really struggle to find something that works. I’ve gone through so many ideas and after each fair I’ve always come out thinking ‘there must be a better way’.

I’ve been busy making lots of lovely button Christmas cards for my up and coming craft fairs – Christmas in the Loft [Adross Farm, Elie] and Magpie Market [Edinburgh]. I love my new printer! I bought it a while ago and not really used it yet. I bought a load of pre-cut/scored blank cards made from recycled card and have been pondering for a while what to do with them. But I got my thinking cap on last night and got productive.

I’ve just found out that Milomade has been selected as a stall holder for the Magpie Market to be held in Edinburgh on the 6th December. Yippee! What brilliant news! So come along to the The Lot – a converted church in the heart of the Grassmarket on the 6th of December and do some Christmas shopping or simply treat yourself.

I’ve got a couple of craft fairs coming up – one this weekend in Dunfermline and another the following weekend in Edinburgh. I recently bought some new stands from IKEA and have been dying to try them out and decide how my stall is going to look. So yesterday I just couldn’t concentrate on work and so decided to do a test run and set my stall up to see how it will look with the new stands. I’m delighted!

Well I did the St Andrews craft fair on Saturday. It was a great venue – a lot more roomy and spacious than the hall in Dunfermline. But I don’t whether it was beacuse of the crappy weather, the time of year, or that all the students started their exams on Saturday [???] but all in all it was a very quiet day. There were a few crowded moments and a few rushes of sales but all in all very slow. So I was quite disappointed by the end of it. I did meet some lovely people though.

Well the Charity Chic Fair is now over and I thought I would post up some images of my stall and tell you all how it went. I really enjoyed it. It was the first ‘proper’ craft fair I’ve done and I was really nervous about it, but I shouldn’t have been. Everyone was so lovely – the organisers and the fellow stall holders and of course the public, who bought so much of my stuff.

I was at Heriot Toun Studio yesterday for my 2nd ever Craft Fair and it was great. I arrived on Friday, so was able to set my stall the evening before and not have to fret about it on Saturday morning. So no stress this time around.
