Remember the gift tags I made last Christmas? The ones made from recycled Christmas Cards? Well I’ve just got into making them again this year in readiness for Christmas Craft Fairs and Sales. I know it seems bizarre as it’s only September, but this year I want to be organised and make things slowly and gradually and regularly rather than having one big mad rush of making later on in the year. I’m also hoping that I’ll be getting some wholesale orders soon, so there’s that to think about and plan for as well.

At the end of last year and beginning of this year I appealed to you to send me your Christmas cards so that I could recycle them and make them into lovely gift tags to sell. In exchange for any donations I promised that I would send out free gifts. Well believe it or not, I’m only just getting round to doing this now!.

I’d like to say a big thank you to all the lovely people out there who have taken the time to pack up their Christmas cards and send them on to me. I’ve received loads of parcels over the past few weeks and have now got tons of cards to make stuff from. I wasn’t expecting many and I’ve been overwhelmed with what has arrived – it’s brilliant.

Just before Christmas I packed up all my stock and craft fair display items and put most of the boxes up in the loft to get them out of the way. I moved the rest of  the stuff out of my studio too, as we’re going to be laying the new floor soon as well as finishing off the walls so that I can move back in properly and get organised and get my work life back to normal. I have been invited by The Park Gallery to exhibit a selection of my work at the up and coming Winter Warmth exhibition which will take place in The Park Gallery’s new location on the ground floor of Callendar House in Falkirk. Winter Warmth is now in it’s 6th year and has built up a reputation for showcasing original, high quality art and design work from a wealth of artists, designers and craft makers in Scotland and the UK. I’m lucky to be one of this years 25 artists.
