As this song came on the stereo this morning it took me back to the moment I found out I was pregnant with Milo. I remember being in the car driving and it came on the radio and I’d never heard it before and thought it was amazing.

I’ve been working through ideas of what to do with my pieces of coloured acrylic and because the clay pieces that also came in the box, along with the acrylic, are flower-like, I’m going to use these as a starting point for my piece(s). I want to make something wearable and tactile and bright – something evoking spring/summer that’s got movement and a flow about it. So I’m thinking along the lines of making a set of jewellery – maybe a neckpiece with earrings to match and/or a bracelet. Or maybe some sort of brooch or collection of brooches.

Colin has been insulating the loft and fixing leaks in the roof recently and in the process has unearthed a few treasures. Firstly a roll of really old wallpaper with wacky flowers on it – very bright and bold and possible material for envelopes and notebook covers. Secondly a whole box of jam jars. These are lovely and from the 70′s by the looks of the newspaper I found in the box as well.

I’ve been eyeing up the work of Lucy Player ever since I selected her as a Featured Seller on Folksy and I was just looking through her Folksy shop tonight and decided to purchase two of her prints.
These will be lovely hung as a set somewhere in the house. I love the simplicity of the line drawings.

I just found these lovely cushions on DaWanda.
They’re made by Alexandra Ferguson who works in the fashion industry in New York. She hand makes these great graphical home accessories from 100% recycled felt, often incorporating chunky typography and natural forms. If she could make the text from a burgundgy fabric, it would match my sofa very well.
