There’s so much about the sea that I find amazing and inspiring and uplifting. I live on a cliff and it’s hard to ignore the force of the water that ebbs and flows below. Sometimes it’s so loud that we feel like we live right next to a motorway.

I don’t normally go for mainstream pop but there’s something about this song that struck a chord – no pun intended. I heard in on the radio when I was driving home one sunny morning with Milo in the back and had no idea who was singing it. I just really liked it instantly. Very […]
Whilst working in my studio last week I rediscovered The Waterboys and have been playing their songs over and over ever since. There’s something very homely about their music and it really give me a sense of place if you know what I mean.
It’s hard for me to pin point my favourite David Bowie track as they’re all so amazing, but if I was on Desert Island Discs, this would be the one I would chose to be one of my 8 tracks. To me, it’s so uplifting and I love it when it comes on the radio […]

This song is a blast from the past for me. I used to work for a design firm in Edinburgh and do the whole 9-5 and get paid a pittance as I was a junior. I hated it but I also loved it. What got me through each day? The people I worked with and […]

Not only have I been working away like a busy bee on envelopes and my shop keepers dummy display, I’ve also been busy making more paper garlands and coming up with a neat way to package them up. My old sewing machine is on it’s last legs though and the tension control is not what […]
I love making envelopes – I can’t stress that enough and over the past week or so I’ve been cutting maps, sheet music, pages from comic annuals etc into envelope shapes. I’ve then been folding and gluing and packaging them up – it’s been hard work, but I love repetitive tasks like this and I […]
I love the music that One Eskimo produce, but I also love the animations that accompany their songs. I fell in love with the animation for their song Hometime and with the music too, but recently I’ve heard their song Kandi on Last.fm and it’s been getting a lot of plays within my library and […]
