I love paper cut art. It’s so intricate and ever so time consuming. I’ve done my fair share in the past when I was at art college, but its not something I decided to pursue. I’ve seen and like a few artists, but never until now seen someone’s work that uses recycled paper, like newspaper until I came across the work of Donna Ruff.

I was asked recently to document a couple of tutorials for Making Magazine – for their July Issue (No.9) – origami bookmarks and pocket notebooks. I’ve just received my copy of the magazine in the post. Unfortunately they couldn’t squeeze in the images for the pocket notebook tutorial as this had to go onto a single page in the end, so they’ve just included the text. This might be a bit confusing for people, so I thought I’d post the images here so that you would be able to see an image of each step.

This is a lovely tutorial, found over at Everyday Mom Ideas that shows you how to make a really pretty Tree centerpiece from scrap paper. It’s a perfect project for this time of year with all the flowers, shrubs and trees coming to life and sending out new shoots and new leaves.
