I’ve had a really interesting few months creating new work for the Kinghorn Artists Annual Exhibition that is on at the Community Centre here in Kinghorn at the moment. Not jewellery but photography!

This year has seen so much loss and I’ve recently been drawn to the work of Amy Friend and in particular her series entitled ‘Dare alla Luce’. I studied photography to degree level and my work, much like Friend’s, used the found image as a starting point.
I love the work of Michael Mapes who creates intricate and detailed portraits by dissecting thousands of photographs of an individual and taking the tiny fragments and pinning them in place like biological specimens.
I often worry about social media overload, but I’ve decided to sign up for Instagram as I’ve heard so many great things about it recently via the podcasts I’ve been listening to on the Thriving Artists Summit run by Bonnie Gllendinning
I love the light in my studio in the afternoons. It’s sunny, warm and makes interesting shadows appear on the frosted glass.
