Today, whilst clearing stuff out of what is soon to be Milo’s room, I rediscovered two chairs I bought from a charity shop in Edinburgh during a summer visit to the city. I pulled them out and rather than just stacking them out ofthe way, I decided to start refurbishing the seats, as was my intention when I first bought them.

I recently discovered the blog of Eric Barclay and thought I’d share it with you. He’s a very talented illustrator as can be seen from his website and I really like his style, but if you explore his blog you’ll find that he’s also rather good at making stuff from odds and ends – and you know how much I love recycling!

I’m preparing for a couple of craft fairs (details coming soon) at the moment and decided to have a go at making some Festive decorations by recycling some drinks cans I’ve been collecting. I found this tutorial the other day and thought I could adapt it to me own needs. So here goes…

I love wrapping presents, but I don’t like buying fancy wrapping paper. I love wrapping my presents with pages from magazines and stuff like that. But one thing that I do have a particular fetish for is plain brown wrapping paper – but no-one [apart from me] wants to get a Christmas pressie wrapped in brown wrapping paper, so why not add a little bit of recycled bling by making some of these paper bows.
