As this song came on the stereo this morning it took me back to the moment I found out I was pregnant with Milo. I remember being in the car driving and it came on the radio and I’d never heard it before and thought it was amazing.

It’s hard for me to pin point my favourite David Bowie track as they’re all so amazing, but if I was on Desert Island Discs, this would be the one I would chose to be one of my 8 tracks. To me, it’s so uplifting and I love it when it comes on the radio when I driving in my car – the volume always gets turned up full and I sing along at the top of my voice…

I first heard this song on an advert for some sort of credit card or payment process (can’t remember) on the TV years ago – I think it had some guy leaving work and getting into some massively long tube slide that took him all the way home. It’s such a happy jolly song that you can’t help but bob along with it and keep humming it all day long as you do the washing up and other mindlessly boring tasks.

This song is a blast from the past for me. I used to work for a design firm in Edinburgh and do the whole 9-5 and get paid a pittance as I was a junior. I hated it but I also loved it. What got me through each day? The people I worked with and the music. Without these each day would’ve been miserable.
