Milomade Jewellery Collection - Daisy Chain

In the true spirit of recycling, this collection was born out of another artists' rubbish. A scrap exchange challenge was organised by Fife Contemporary Art & Craft this year, where artists were asked to swap shoeboxes full of scrap/waste from their studios and make a piece of work from what they recieved.

My donated shoebox was full of coloured rods of acrylic and small clay flower forms and from these I developed the beginnings of my Daisy Chain Collection.

By cutting the coloured acrylic rods I was able to create small acrylic discs which I formed into buttons and threaded on to short stems of curved silver wire which were then heated and balled at each end. It's a process which took quite a while to perfect and you can read about the process here.

The necklaces, bracelets and earrings in this collection are made with either hand crafted acrylic buttons or a hand picked selection of vintage buttons. Prices vary depending on length and the type of buttons used.

This collection is still in development and more images will be added soon.
