What Data is Collected, How and Why?

When you visit the Site, certain device and technical data is automatically collected. This includes your internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone settings and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.

Additionally, as you browse the Site, information about the individual web pages or products that you view, the websites and search terms that referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site is also collected. This automatically-collected information is referred to as ‘Device and Technical Data’.

This Information is collected using the following technologies:

This type of data identifies you as an individual and is collected when you register with the Site as a customer and includes your first name, last name and username. It will also include your email address, your billing address, your shipping address as well as your phone number if you place an order on the Site.

In order to make a purchase on the Site, you need to register for an account and provide the personal details listed above. This Identity and Contact Data is then use to fulfil any orders you place through the Site. Additionally it is also used to communicate with you about your order, as well as screen for potential risk or fraud.

This type of data includes details about the items you have purchased, the orders you’ve placed, the payment processor used, the time and date of your orders as well as your IP address at the point of ordering.

Payments are not made on this website but via the secure transaction services of PayPal and are completely independent of Milomade. Therefore no payment information is stored on the Site. Please refer to PayPal’s Privacy Policy if you want to see how they store and use your data.

When leaving comments on any Journal post on the Site, the comments form collects personal data from visitors including their name and email address. This data is also stored in a browser cookie, which is used to automatically fill in the user’s information the next time they visit and leave a comment.The user’s IP address and browser user agent string are also collected to help with spam detection.

When providing a testimonial, a user has the option to upload an image to the Site. It is the user’s responsibility to avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included, as this information can be downloaded and extracted by any visitor to the Site.

The Contact Form 7 plugin is used to generate contact forms on the Site. All contact form submissions are stored for customer service purposes only and the information provided is not used for marketing purposes or shared with any third parties.

The Site uses Mailchimp to maintain a mailing. This list is used to keep in touch with existing and potential customers as well as other interested parties. Subscription to the Milomade mailing list is not automatic when placing an order or creating an account with the Site. Users have to actively choose to subscribe and thier data (name and email address) is obtained through a double opt-in process, where the user has to confirm their subscription before being added to the mailing list.

The collected data is used for sending occasional email newsletters informing the subscribers of new products, offers, events and general news. Users can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link provided in every newsletter sent out. If you unsubscribe from the mailing list your data is manually removed and deleted after one calander month.

Google Analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics for analytical tracking of user behaviour. The cookies in use to deliver Google Analytics store information, such as what time your current visit occurred, whether you have been to the site before, and what site referred you.These cookies contain no personally identifiable information but they will use your computer’s IP address to know from where in the world you are accessing the Internet. Who Your Data Is Shared With

Your data is never used to provide targeted advertisements or marketing communications or share or sell your data to any third parties. Data will only be shared when it is necessary to do so for operational or legal purposes, in order to comply with any legal obligation or to protect the rights, property or safety of Milomade and its customers.

As stated above, your data is shared with Google Analytics but only to provide Milomade with a greater understanding of how customers use the Site so that it can be improved and enhanced. In order to provide website visitors with more choice on how data is collected by Google Analytics, Google has developed the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The add-on communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) to stop data being sent to Google Analytics. The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on does not affect usage of the Site in any other way. Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access all personal data held about you and to ask that your personal data be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact Evie Milo through the contact information below.

Data Retention

If you have an account on the Site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held on you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that your personal data is erased. This does not include any data Milomade is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

When you place an order through the Site, your Order Information is maintained for business records unless and until you ask for it to be deleted.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so any follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on the Site, the personal information they provide in their user profile is stored. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Evie Milo is the only permanent Website Administrator.
