Exhibition at Lochgelly Centre Galleries 16th January – 16th March 2016 Bank St, Lochgelly, Fife KY5 9RD At the end of last year I was invited to take part in this group exhibition showcasing the creative industries in Fife.
I’ve been busy working away in my studio – the beginnings of a new jewellery collection, as yet with no name. It’s new in production, but it’s been in my head for years, I’ve just never had the time to experiment and devote enough time to development until now.
I’ve been working steadily over the past few months on a new collection of jewellery. It’s based on a few pieces I’ve always made and have sold successfully in the past. I just want to expand the range and develop it fully as I intend to launch the collection at BCTF next year.
There’s a little hidden gem in Burntisland – if you don’t know it’s there you would miss it. Round the back of the station there is a row of studios inhabited by jewellers, painters, crafters etc. This weekend they opened their doors to the public and Milo and I paid them a visit.
A customer approached me at the end of last year in the hope of commissioning me to create a few pieces of jewellery for her from some heirloom antique silverware she had.
I’ve been working with sea glass again over the past few weeks creating a set of jewellery for a customer. He wants to treat his wife on her 40th birthday and commissioned me to make something unique that had to be in silver and preferably include the colour green.
