The winter show at the Found Gallery opens on Saturday 9th November – that’s this weekend!
As a contrast to previous years, I’ve chosen not to supply jewellery this time. Instead I’ve sent a selection of other work for them to display and sell. So if you like my Copper Type, my Little Stories and my Copper Cloud Decorations, you’re in luck! If you pop into the gallery on Saturday or in the run up to Christmas, you’ll be able see and buy a variety of my small sculptural pieces and copper type as well as cloud hanging decorations.
We’re in the run up to Christmas now and this is my first post about Christmas shopping. The Found Gallery is an absolute treasure trove of beautiful handcrafted loveliness and there a gifts a plenty catering for every taste and all budgets.
I’m really chuffed to be taking part in the Winter Show again. Here are a few lovely image galleries to whet your appetite. I really hope you like what you see…
Plain Copper Type
These stand alone copper letters are made from flattened recycled copper plumbing pipes or industry sheet offcuts – basically someone else waste, which I have lovingly transformed into something beautiful and new.
They are all individually hand cut and the surfaces are stamped with a variety of decorative impressions that hark back to my Polish heritage. You can choose individual letters, or buy a few and spell out a name or favourite word.
Commissions and bespoke orders are very welcome too. All you need to do is ask and I can chat over your requirements with you.
Copper Type with Brass Embellishments
These pieces were originally made for an exhibition at Sunny Bank Mills in Leeds and I’ve recently unearthed them and polished them up ready to be put on display and sale.
I’m more than happy to take on bespoke orders and you may also want to check out my Personalised Name Banners in my online shop as they make wonderful unique gifts too.
I’ve also sent them down four of my Little Stories. Each of my Little Stories illustrates a letter of the alphabet. The letters are cut from scrap brass and are accompanied by little scenes, currently on a coastal theme, cut from recycled silver, brass and copper that are rivetted together. They each come with steel support posts to enable them to stand independantly.
Copper Clouds Decorations
My Copper Decorations always sell well at this time of year to, so the Found Gallery now have a selection of my Copper Clouds. Some with a mix of vintage white buttons, some with purple buttons (for Prince fans) and some with a rainbow mix of buttons.
So what are you waiting for? Head over to Found in Dunbar and get Christmas shopping!
