First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has updated the rules around wearing face coverings in Scotland, with changes to take effect on 10th July. Wearing face masks is mandatory on all public transport and is now to become mandatory in shops as well, but we are urged to get into the habit of wearing them ahead of this date.
I researched face mask patterns for a while and settled on the Olson Mask as it is curved to fit the nose and mouth area, and there is a filter pocket on the inside to add an extra layer of protection should you feel you need it. I also chose this pattern as I found an adapted version of it to make it in child sizes, but I’ve not felt the need to venture down that route as yet. But I can make child sizes on request.
I have made these face masks from a mix of fine weave cotton fabrics. Fabric masks offer the benefit of being able to be washed and re-used. I suggest you wash them in a normal wash at 30°C.
The price for each mask includes P&P, so please use the coupon provided within each listing at checkout to cancel out the standard shipping costs my e-commerce software applies.
