My business has a responsibility to be a good steward for the planet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I have always strived to reduce the impact I have on the planet through my choice of materials. My motto has always been ‘too good to waste’ and when you buy from Milomade you acquire something not just unique and beautiful, but something that leaves neither damage nor waste in its wake.
This month I’ve been taking a retrospective look back at the work I made last year. The first Lockdown seems like such a long time ago now. It was such a strange period and we had to adjust quickly to a new and different was of living, working, schooling, shopping and socialising.
July is the month to launch a load of new work it seems. I’ve got my Lockdown Limited Editions about to arrive back from the Assay Office next week. I also made a few statement neck pieces last week which have just been added to my online shop.
Lockdown is making me think more creatively with the silver I have in my studio. I had a lovely day creating last week. I discovered some strips of silver that I had originally planned to make into bangles.
So far during this lockdown I’ve made two things I put on my #BucketList of projects. My Jellyfish Pendants and now these new Spoon Earrings. That’s one of the positive things that’s come out of this lockdown – I’ve been able to experiment and try ideas out that have been lingering on my to do list for a long time.
