My last blog post was all about whale watching in Kinghorn and how our oceanic visitor to the Firth of Forth inspired me last year to start making whale tail necklets. With the return of the whale(s) this year, we’ve had a really busy January here in Kinghorn with hundreds of whale watchers flocking to the village to spot and photograph the whale(s) – it’s been amazing.

So I’ve been in production mode again, not just because the whale is here now, but for the sheer joy of making and selling these pendants. I love them and I love that just as each whale fluke is unique, so is each of my necklets. I can’t make two that are identical – they are all individuals in their own right.

I’m starting the week with some new additions to my online shop. I’ve just listed my next batch of Whale Tail Necklets this morning. There were 10 in stock when I started typing, but that has just gone down to 9 as an order has just come through.

Each whale tail necklet is given a subtle brushed finish and then the silver is oxidised to turn it black. I then polish the pieces up, burnishing the edges so that the tails are beautifully defined with a shiny silver outline. The necklets I use are simple and sleek and very lightweight.

Available while stocks last… and then until the next batch goes into production…
