Why is it when you’ve got something mundane/difficult to do, something really lovely and exciting lands in your lap and you then have the dilemma of finishing the mundane/difficult task off before getting on with the lovely/exciting stuff and battling with the constant distraction that the lovely/exciting stuff causes.
I decided that today would be the day that I would devote to filling out my grant appliction for the 2008-2009 Craft Artists Awards, as the deadline is a week away and there’s a lot to sort out/write/photograph, but it just happens to be the same day that three fabulous packages arrive for me in the post, filled to the brim with gorgeous buttons that need organising and sorting.
So I’m really struggling with the application as my work desk is covered in lovely buttons and I can’t help but put them in colour piles or piles of like buttons.
These ones a gorgeous – they’re like enourmous yummy chocolate buttons:

These are a similar shade:

And this is the entire stash:

There are another two bags of buttons but those are ones that already sorted as I bulk bought a load of buttons all the same.
I’ll end up trying to so both the application and the sorting and end up not completing either, so I think I’m going to have to put the buttons away and get on with the important stuff for now!

Oh, I’m so bad at having two jobs, at least, running at the same time, then wondering why neither are ever finished and everything is such a mess.
But that first photo really does look like chocolates and when you’ve had ‘treasure’ through the post it’s not easy to resist . . . !
Ooooooooh…yummy. (*snapping out of it*) Both the buttons and the chocolate look most appealing! What a fanastic collection – and getting packages through the post is just the best. Good luck ignoring their siren call and getting down to the form-filling 🙂
I’ve now been chosen by Folksy to select the next four featured sellers – yet another distraction that’s kept me away from the grant application this morning!
LOL…I’m soooo terrible at being distracted by parcels!
