Newsflash from Zibbet

I’ve noticed that this week, the Zibbet site where I have my online shop, has ground to a halt and has often been unavailable. I apologise for the inconvenience, if anyone has been trying to access my shop this week. The reason for the site slowing down and disappearing at times, is that they’ve had a huge influx of new sellers – it seems that there have been a huge number of Etsy sellers migrating to Zibbet this week. Maybe it’s because we at Zibbet have been zibbeting on about how fab the site is on out blogs and on twitter and facebook.

It’s great news for Zibbet and Zibbet sellers as this is going to raise the profile of the site, but the downside of it is that the Zibbet servers haven’t been able to cope with the traffic, so Zibbet are currently upgrading to new servers – hence the site being so slow at the moment. Here’s an email I received from Jonathan at Zibbet this morning:

Zibbet Servers Crumble Under a Huge Influx of Traffic!

Normally we wouldn’t send an email out in the middle of the week, but we wanted you all to be informed of this…

Over the past 48 hours, Zibbet has suddenly become extremely popular and Etsy sellers in particular are flooding to the site to join.  We’ve sold over 100 Premium Accounts just in the last 48 hours!!  That’s huge!

It’s great news, but our servers haven’t been able to keep up and have slowed the site to a crawl and have been inaccessible to a lot of people.  We apologize for the inconvenience and we’re doing our very best to have this resolved ASAP.

We’ve purchased a brand new, very large, server earlier today.  It generally takes 24 hours for the server to be put together and ready for us to start copying the database onto the new server.  We’re doing our best to expedite the process and will get the new server online as soon as we can.

Until then, please note that if you’re using the site it’s going to be very slow going.  If you see any comments regarding the slowness of the site on Twitter, Facebook, forums etc, please pass on our apologies and inform them of why it’s happening and that it will be resolved very soon.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email support@zibbet.com.  By the way, it may take you a while to upgrade, but if you haven’t gone Premium yet, or you have friends that may want to go Premium, you may want to think about doing it today!  There’s only 112 accounts left at $7/month and at this rate, they won’t last the week!  To upgrade, log into your account and click the ‘Upgrade My Account’ link, then follow the prompts.

Zibbet has a very exciting future and it’s great to have you as a part of our foundational members.  Together we can make Zibbet the best handmade venue on the planet!  We’re just getting started!

Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Kind regards,

Jonathan Peacock
