If you’re a reader of the Daily Mail then you’ll have been reading today’s You Magazine. Within it’s pages you’ll find an article all about Upcycling and Recycling featuring some rather crafty ladies – great article. What makes even greater is that Milomade is mentioned in the text right at the bottom – hurrah!
A growing band of crafty creatives is tackling the problem of our ‘throwaway’ culture by reinventing yesterday’s trash as tomorrow’s treasure. Here we meet some of the upmarket ‘upcyclers’ who are putting the funk into junk.
It so amazing to get a mention!

Also featured are Zoe Murphy with her restored, hand screen printed and painted furniture:

Julia Burnett, Edori Fertig, Helen Turner, Pia Randall-Goddard and Liz Honeybone who are collectively known as the Skip Sisters and are cleverly breathing new life into everything from toy figures, stamps and old teacups to vintage fabrics, forks and wooden pegs.

Laura Marsden who transforms supermarket bags into ‘eternal lace’ which is soft to the touch and extremely malleable. It can take a day to make one small sculptured snowflake or flower, so every creation, from neckpieces to wall art, is painstakingly unique.
