Badge-mania!!!

I’ve been wanting to get a badgemaker for absolutely ages and it was one of the items of equipment I specified within my grant application that I would buy if I was awarded the grant…so when I saw one come up on e-bay at a very low price, I made sure I kept an eye on it.

This one in particular seemed like a very good deal as it came with tons of badge components and magnets [so I could make fridge magnets too] as well as a circle cutter. I ended up spending just under what I initially predicted I would spend on a machine, so I was a bit disappointed as it was second hand and not new, but with all the extra’s that came with the machine, I’m more than happy with my purchase…here’s the machine in all it’s orange glory!

I had a few teething problems with it initially as it didn’t come with a sheet of instructions and I just could not for the life of me, figure out how it worked. I consulted the manufacturers website and was none the wiser and so I got in touch with the e-bay seller, no reply. I got quite despondant and thought I’d been sold a dud and requested a refund.

The e-bay seller eventually called me up and tried to explain the process over the phone – still couldn’t do it or figure it out, then everything clicked into place and I realised how it worked!

I was overjoyed! I spent the rest of the evening making badges! Over the past few months I’ve been collecting envelopes specifically for this moment. Not sure if it’s just me that notices the lovely patterns that appear on the inside of envelopes, but as I’m obsessed with patterns and details, I guess maybe I am. Well here are a few of the badges I’ve made by recycling envelopes…they’ll be in my shop soon!

Such lovely patterns! I made ten of each and will be selling them in packs of four with four different designs in each pack.

I couldn’t resist making some more – these are just from random patterns I’ve collected over the years.
