Why has Dr Who got so shit?

I guess I’m still grieving for the loss of the 10th doctor, but maybe that’s so because the new Doctor has not lived up to expectations. I’m not sure why the new cast were chosen, but it surely can’t be for their acting abilities. I have just watched Episode 8 and it was appalling. I can’t help but wonder how David Tennant would’ve played the part with either Billie Piper or Catherine Tate as his sidekick.

Maybe it’s the change of writer. Who knows…

I’m no longer a fan!

oh god i so so so wish i could disagree – each week i feel more disappointed :o( for me it started off so well but week by week it’s getting worse – i don’t think it’s the acting – i think it’s the writing – keeping my fingers crossed for a return to form x

I think it’s a combination of the two. Some of the stories he wrote for the previous doctor were amazing and ended up being my favourite episodes but then I think David Tennant’s talent made them so good. With this series it seems that he’s trying to cram too much into each hour. There is no time for character development or storyline development. Oh and all that endless pointless questioning by Amy – make it stop!!!!

I agree, I really liked the 11th Dr. when he started, the episodes good, he was funny…but I can’t stand Amy Pond! It’s like they decided “right well we’ve got rid of one very talented Scot who has huge eyes and doesn’t blink, so what will we replace him with? Oh! I know! A completely unknown Scottish actress who doesn’t blink!”

It is becoming progressively more and more disappointing & Matt Smith, I think, is really funny and has really good comic timing, but week on week the episode are getting worst. And it doesn’t have the draw that Tennant produced.

Maybe they’re getting worst because they spent their entire budget sending Smith and the writer to Venice to shoot Dr. Who Confidential. so ran out of money for decent story lines.
