I apologise for the lack of activity on this blog for a while but I’ve been on a bit of a digital detox. Last week we unplugged ourselves from our daily routine of internet and work and headed down south with the dog. We drove down to Woodhall Spa to stay with Morag, Matt, Emma and James and leave the dog with them whilst we then headed onto London for some time to ourselves.
On the way there we stopped off for a short break and found a litle picnic spot with a toilet block and whilst sitting at one of the picnic tables and having a wee snack we noticed that we were surrounded by cherry trees completely laden with fruit. We couldn’t believe our luck. Both red and black cherries. We tasted both and decided the black cherries were the best and so picked a few bagfuls to munch on whilst we continued on our drive.

We drove on and decided to stop at the causeway over to Lindisfarne and take Abee for a walk. The tide was coming in and so there was no point going over to the island as we would have to leave as soon as we arrived so we just parked before the little bridge and let the dog run about on the vast beach and run about she did.

I wanted to take the picture above and so had to run across the little bridge below it in order to get to the other side of a small stretch of water in order to photograph the building straight on. Whilst taking the picture Colin called over to me to alert me to the fact that Abee wanted to join me and had decided to swim over rather than risk the bridge and the traffic. Bless her…

I saw lots of this lovely pink seaweed strewn all over the placetoo…

We eventually reached our destination – doggy paradise for Abee where she gets spoilt with lots of long walks and tons of attention and lots of games – and Morag had an amazingly tasty lobster and prawn risotto in the oven for us – totally yummy!
