Ages ago we decided to have a glass splash back in our new kitchen – either coloured glass, or just plain glass with a painted wall behind. BUT now that the walls have been exposed (they were covered in tile and units) and replastered, a glass splash back is out of the question as the walls are so wonky (it’s a very old house). So we’re looking into the idea of glass tiles instead.
With tiles we’ll be able to get around having wonky wall and maybe possibly disguise them a little too. I’ve never done any tiling so it’s going to be yet another challenge to take on, but I like a challenge and you never know I might turn out to be quite good at it.
I don’t particularly like square tiles – rectangular ones do it for me and when I came across this image today, I decided that these are the tiles I want – I love the shape and I love the colour and I love that they’re made from glass!
I found the image on the Country Living website and annoyingly they don’t state the make or supplier!
They’re a beautiful sea green and remind me of the sea glass I collect on the beaches in Fife.
Anyone know where you can get tiles like this?

issit these?

Thanks for the links, but I’ve already looked at their stuff and they don’t have these tiles. Their glass tiles are all smooth and perfect. The tiles in the image above have a texture to them and the colour varies slightly in each. I think they might be handmade or recycled glass.
These look similar:

I hope you find the ones you want.
Close but not quite – thanks for the link!
they are made by Marlborough tiles or the Winchester Tile Company – can’t tell which – think it’s the Winchester ones – the range is called Metropolitan or Artisan and these are ‘half tiles’
Marlborough do ones with a metallic back that are worth a look
Wow thanks for the info. There’s a stockist in Fife quite close to Dunfermline so we’re going to go and check them out. Convinced they’re going to be very pricey but also keen to get something unique. Will let you know what we discover.
i want those tiles too – did you find them? name of tile and stockist be great!
sadly no – we ended up with boring plain white tiles.
They look like Fireclay tile in Aqua https://www.fireclaytile.com/tile/colors/detail/aqua/?size=tile-field-3-x-6
