Father’s Day finds on UK Handmade

I’ve just been informed that my Dark Brown Leather iPod Case has been featured on the UK Handmade website in a post about suggestions for Father’s Day gifts. I wonder whether this will drive any traffic to my Folksy shop and whether I’ll make some sales.

I don’t personally do ‘Mothers Day’ or ‘Fathers Day’ or ‘Valentines Day’ for that matter, as I think they’re all over commercialised concepts forcing us to ‘buy buy buy’ and show our love, affection and appreciation through consumerism – I prefer to bake someone a cake, or some cookies or in fact – make them a case for their iPod!

Agree wholeheartedly. For my nephew’s birthday I made him a super hero cape with his initials on. Someone else bought him a big fancy expensive costume – guess what – he ran around the garden wearing his cape with glee. My neice last month said to my brother – oooh I wonder what Auntie Tracey is going to make me for my birthday. My mother on the other hand would rather I buy something really pointless and expensive!!!

Make, make and make – every time. I so often bake biscuits or make chocolates from friends for their birthday, or even offer to make the birthday cake – it’s something everyone can share and enjoy. So much better! I love the idea of a super hero cape – wish somone would make one for me! Oh how I wish I had kids!

thanks for the link – that is so cool – who needs a party? I’d wear this round the office all day [I do work on my own from home I should add]!
